March 2018 Beauty & Fashion Favourites
March was a hard month to dress for, as autumn usually is. One day it was 27 degrees and the next day it was 10 degrees so deciding what to wear was hard and I didn't want to swap out my summer wardrobe yet with my winter clothes so I had to make do with a buying a couple of pieces, such a hard choice. Beauty-wise these products have quickly become my favourites and I will be repurchasing them as soon as they run out.
Let's start with Fashion:
1. Witchery Dress
I spotted this dress on the sales rack and it was meant to be as it was the only one left and it was in my size. I love the pattern on it and I also have the skirt version as well, which I bought last year. It's quickly become my go-to work dress, as it fits my body well and gives me confidence when wearing it. I also wore it to my Nana's funeral, so it will always hold a memory of her when I wear it now. Do you hold memories to your clothes? I love how I can pop on a pair of heels and a black blazer in summer, but for winter I can just pair it with a pair of tights and boots. I love it when you can wear work clothes all year round.
2. Silver Flats
Most of the shoes that I own are either black or nude so when these jumped out at me, I was a bit taken bit and knew I had to get them. They are one of the most comfortable shoes that I own, as they are like walking on pillows, but due to my Roaccutane I have still managed to get blisters from them, no shoe is safe for my feet at this stage. They have been my go-to shoe for work and on the weekend and I love pairing them with my cropped Zara jeans, H&M jumper and ASOS leather jacket and if its warm I swap the jumper with a white t-shirt.
3. H&M Jumper
I love having H&M in Christchurch as they have the best basics and are affordable. This jumper has become my most worn of clothing in March and will most likely continue into April. It's soft and warm and in my neutral colour palette so its something that I easily gravitate towards in the morning when I'm not sure what to wear. I also love how it's slightly oversized as it makes it perfect for layering.
Now onto Beauty:
1. Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
This stuff is incredible! It removes all of my makeup, it's so easy to use, it doesn't break me out and its hydrating for my super dry skin. I have always been nervous to try cleansing balms as I thought they would break me out even more, but this hasn't happened at all.
2. Lanolips Tinted Lip Balm SPF 30 in Nude
I saw this in Mecca Maxima and I remembered Lydia Elise Millen talking about it in one of her vlogs, so I thought I would give it a try. I was hoping that it would be more hydrating than the Frank Body Lip Tints that I have previously been using and I must say, it really is! It feels so soft on my lips and not sticky at all, which is exactly what my overly dry lips need. It's also a colour that I can wear every day and pop on for a special occasion, which is a real selling point as I haven't been able to wear anything but Eight Hour Cream for a while.
3. Bare Minerals Original SPF 15 Foundation
This foundation has become my go-to powder over my Nars Tinted Moisturiser, as I love the medium coverage it gives me and it makes my makeup last all day so I don't have to worry about touching up my skin when at work. I put it on using the Bare Minerals Ready Precision Face Brush and it buffs it perfectly into the skin, making it still look really natural. I also recommend the brush as you can also use it to buff in a liquid foundation and I promise you, your skin will look flawless!
