August 2018 Beauty & Fashion Favourites
Spending 3 weeks of August in Bali was AMAZING!!! So hard coming back to the cold weather :( Spring needs to seriously hurry up and come. I loved allowing my face to be really natural, which a year ago there is no way I would have gone anywhere without makeup, but now I'm feeling a lot more confident and feel comfortable in my skin.
Let's start with Fashion:
1. Bali Round Rattan Beach Bag
This bag was my first purchase in Bali and I used it every day while over there and am looking forward to busting it out again in the New Zealand summer. It's surprising how much you can fit in the bag and I love how you could even wear it cross body. I feel like this bag has been seen everywhere lately, which made me question buying one, but after some umming and ahhing, I'm happy I went ahead with it.
2. Green Rock Spotty Dress
One of the perks of having small boobs is you can wear dresses and tops without a bar haha, so I'm happy to be embracing the trend of wearing cross bodies dresses and tops. I spotted this dress on the mannequin, excuse the pun when I was exploring Canggu and dragged Brad into the store and after trying it on I knew I had to get it. I love how there is a slight arch in the front of the dress which makes my short legs look a lot longer.
3. Bamboo Blonde Sunset Jumpsuit
Bamboo Blonde quickly became my favourite store in Bali, if I could I would have brought most of their store. I find it really hard to buy jumpsuits and dresses that go straight up and down with my body type so half the time I won't even bother trying them on, but for some reason, I ignored my inner self-doubt and took this bad boy to the changing room and I'm so happy I did. I feel like it fits me well is because it has an elastic waist with a belt and mixed with the wrap style upper body it gives me shape. I can't wait to bring this jumpsuit out in summer!
And now for Beauty!
1. Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara
This was a last minute purchase before my trip and this stuff is amazing! I wore it everyday in Bali and it didn't budge once, even at the WaterPark and going down all the slides. I loved how it made my lashes look thick and long, it's a must-have summer mascara. I don't use waterproof mascara every day as I hate how much work is involved in taking it off, so I need to try the non-waterproof one next.
2. Hourglass Arch Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel
Hourglass not only do the most beautiful packaging their products are also incredible and this brow gel is no exception. This stuff gives me fuller looking brows and goes perfectly with their Arch Brow Pencil, which I usually use. But while in Bali I only put this in my brows and they still looked full and had enough colour. When putting on I use the short-bristled side to work in the product and then use the long bristled side to brush it out and define them.
3. Urban Decay Meltdown Makeup Remover Cleansing Oil Stick
I find this product so easy to travel with as it fits easily into my beauty bag and you don't have to worry about any spillage. It does a good job of removing all of my makeup including the waterproof mascara, but you do have to do a bit of rubbing and some warning, it may sting your eyes.
What were your beauty and fashion favourites for August? Are you heading into Winter or Summer? xx
