When your year doesn’t go to plan!

Wow I can’t believe we are in 2019! It seems like only yesterday we were heading into 2018, which seemed like a year of so many possibilities. Unfortunately, it was one of my toughest years yet. I lost someone very close to me, had so many promises broken to me regarding my career and my business and worked with some people that were truly horrible and made me really question why people could be so cruel when they don’t even know you, let alone work in the same office building as you…..office bullying sucks and is something that needs to be addressed quickly. It’s so important for a business to have a good company culture so these situation’s do not arise.

Looking back on 2018 I feel like all of these things happened for a reason even though it did not feel like that at the time. I am no way near the same person that I was at the start of 2018 and I feel like that has been for the best. I feel like I am a lot more confident now and will stand up for myself even if you are a good 20 to 30 years older than me. I also believe in myself and my business more, which makes me super excited to work on my plans for it for 2019 and grow it into the business that it really deserves to be. Working with people on their careers is something that I am truly passionate about, so watch this space and please check out Recruit You, it’s my baby and deserves lots of love and support.

When reflecting on a year that didn’t turn out how you wanted, it’s important to not blame yourself or others. You just need to focus on what you have learnt and how you are going to put these lessons into action to make your next year better. Do this, by pouring yourself a glass of wine or making a coffee and sit down with a journal and write down everything that has happened that year, why it happened and how it made you feel. Then read over it and write down what actions you are going to take to make the new year great! These actions will match with your goals!

My next post is going to be about setting goals, so make sure you check it out! This year I was all about skipping the new year resolutions and instead focusing on my goals for the next ten years and breaking them down, so I can actually achieve them.

How was your 2018? Did everything go to plan? Or was it better than you imagined? I’m so excited for 2019 and can’t wait work hard and kick arse this year! Hope you are having an amazing year so far xxx.
